A SUBVENTION OF MORE THAN $7,000 Editor: Nancy Nourse
Date: December 9, 2011 Region: Memphremagog
Recently Deputy Mr. Pierre Reid (Orford Riding), was happy to announce, in the name of the Minister of Public Safety, Robert Dutil, a subsidy of 7080$ for the Municipality of Hatley, the joint Program of civil protection (PCPC) 2011-2012 for a project adding up to $14,160.
“The Municipality of Hatley will use this subsidy to upgrade its plan of emergency measures adopted in 1997. This update is important, since this planning will then enable the Town to act suitably in case of emergency”, declared Deputy Reid.
The PCPC is a federal program which is addressed to the municipalities, with the regional municipalities of county, the metropolitan county, the metropolitan communities like with the ministries and the organizations of the government of Quebec. This program is managed in Quebec by the Ministry for public Safety, under the responsibility of Public Safety Canada.
“The preparation and the prevention constitute the angular stone in civil safety when a disaster occurs in a community. This is why the program aims at encouraging the municipal initiatives in this matter. The government of Quebec east thus proud to join the municipalities which contribute to reinforce their actions with an aim of better protecting the population”, underlined the minister Robert Dutil.
