Are We Conditioned For Our Fate?
LENNOXVILLE: The Community Art Lab, in collaboration with the Foreman Art Gallery at Bishop’s University (2600 College Street), is pleased to present its latest exhibition, ‘Are We Conditioned For Our Fate?’ This is a community-based exhibition project led by the collective group of artists DodoLab (Guelph/Hamilton) which undertakes a critical, yet playful exploration of the culture and identity of Bishop's University by probing the perceptions of students, alumni, faculty and the administration, as well as the wider community of Lennoxville.
While produced to function as a creative experiment which encourages dialogue, participation and allows for a continuous accumulation of information, this project is rooted not only in the history of Bishop’s University but also its current students and surrounding community.
Artists: DodoLab is an evolving collaborative program lead by artists Lisa Hirmer and Andrew Hunter. Hunter is an artist, writer, curator and educator based in Hamilton, Ontario. He was recently named Curator of Canadian Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Toronto. Hirmer is a designer, photographer, artist and writer based in Guelph, Ontario.
This latest exhibit was first seen at a sherry party held on Tuesday, April 16, held in celebration of its official opening. The exhibition will be on display until May 4, 2013.
